1920s Art deco - characterized by precise and boldly delineated geometric shapes and strong colors

1940s Go organic - exemplified by flowing natural forms, undulating lines and dynamic curves. This style has been popularized by Modernist designers of the decade with the increasing adherence to mass produced items. The use of chrome, formica and vinyl was made popular during the decade.
1950s Functionalism and Modernism - items were designed based on their purposes, streamlined and cleaned, which focus on their efficiency.
1960s Space Age - the design during this decade was also known as Atomic Age of the Space Age Design. Mixture of organic and futuristic based on the events during the era which is the advancement in science and space races. Materials used in creating furniture were considered new-age materials.
1970s Psychedelic Age - social consciousness and the return to nature design trend was observed. The social ideals were expressed in the design s in many aspects.
1980s Memphis and Postmodernism - characterized by clash in styles, the use of materials and colors have no strict rules and functionality is not much observed.
