Graffiti, what is it and what do they mean?

2. Political protest art – embracing political protests to public policies, national agendas and many more.

3. Street gang art – graffiti that was used by different gangs to mark their territory.

Since graffiti has been regarded by many cities and countries as a form of vandalism, laws have been passed to punish those who are responsible for defacing public and private properties. In addition to these, in a more positive manner, graffiti artists were given opportunities to express their thoughts and feelings by providing them venue for their art work, such as exhibits in some of the art museums to showcase their street art.
