Slow Living

My name is Marieke, mom of three kids – 14, 11 and 7 - and working as a child psychologist. We live in a small town in the Netherlands, nearby the woods, where we love to walk and feeRead morel nature at it’s best.

In my spare time I study interior design. I love to create pretty corners, and to reconfigure the kids rooms, mostly by adding another wall color or wallpaper. I get inspired by many things, like daily life, my kids, nature, magazines, Pinterest and Instagram. My styling can be described as minimal. I use a subtle color scheme, like white, grey and sand. Brown and deep green are my fave accent colors, just like our wallpapers, which are real eye catchers, although they are subtle as well.

About Slow Living Collection
For Photowall I selected 15 favorite wallpapers, which are all minimal – soft natural colors and prints, but just enough to create an attractive and authentic atmosphere. They represent a Scandic or Japandi style and the feeling of slow living. The watercolored wallpaper, in blue or pink, will fit a teenager room so well. Mix it with warmer colors, like darker brown or gold, for an adult touch. For younger kids, or babies, I prefer the prints from Fine Little Day and Garbo & Friends. The Gran trees, in black and white, are my all-time favorite, also for kids bedding.

The wallpaper with the pine forest, succulents, clouds or palm leaves fit many rooms like the livingroom, kidsroom or the hall. And don’t forget the toilet, even the smallest room of the house can get an upgrade by all of these lovely prints.
