On the other hand, red is known to increase blood pressure, respiration, and heart rates. The color may not be appropriate to be used in the bedroom as it may be too stimulating.

2. Yellow – projects happiness and joy in the room. Ideal for the kitchen, dining room, and bathroom as it energizes and uplifts the atmosphere of the room. When used in the entryway, the color can create a feeling of welcoming. Yellow is not recommended to be used as a main color scheme of the room. It has been observed that individuals tend to lose their temper in an interior colored with yellow. In addition to these, babies tend to cry more in yellow rooms. Never use the color in large amounts as the color tends to create feelings of frustration and anger.

3. Blue – blue may be the most preferred color among the color palettes. It is known that the color can lower blood pressure, heart and respiratory rates. These are the reasons why blue is a calming and relaxing color. Therefore, the color is ideal to be used in the bedroom and bathroom. Warm blues are recommended in the family room, living room and large kitchen. The use of the color can promote relaxation in the said rooms. Too much use of blue, such as dark shades of blue can promote sadness, so never use dark blue as the main color scheme.

4. Green – the color can cool things down. Green is considered to be the most relaxing color for the eye. Combining green with yellow and blue is ideal for use in any room of the house. Green in the family room encourages relaxation and unwinding. When used as a main color, green promotes a calming effect and helps people relax. Did you know that green can promote fertility? 5. Purple – deep shade of purple is rich and sophisticated. Lighter shade of purple can promote the relaxing value similar to that of blue.

6. Orange – the color promotes excitement and enthusiasm as it is an energetic color. Ideal for use in the exercise room rather than in the bedroom or living room.
