Wedding talk with blogger Anja Forsnor

Wedding season is in full swing. Here at the wallpaper factory, we’re excited about decorating for receptions and talking wedding tips with Swedish blogger and bride Anja Forsnor.

Wallpaper pennants in gorgeous motifs, a photo wallpaper background in pastel shades and romantic heart garlands are some of our top decoration ideas for the big day. Blogger Anja and her fiancé Marcus remind us to remember the small details and to surprise wedding guests with something unexpected. See our wedding pictures and read Anja and Marcus’s thoughts about their upcoming wedding for more inspiration.

First off, tell us about the proposal.

Anja

We had a totally magical vacation in Thailand last winter. On one of the last nights, Marcus got down on his knees in the sand and surprised me with words that left me in tears. And a ring, of course—the most beautiful ring in the world! Then we made a toast, drank from coconuts, and kissed barefoot in the sand under the starry sky. So ridiculously perfect and so us.

Marcus

I was so nervous I hardly remember what I said. Anja didn’t know it, but I had already planned to propose two years earlier. We were on vacation then too, and I had reserved a whole day at sea with Anja, but as stubborn as she is, she insisted on staying ashore. I tried all I could but failed to get her out to sea, so it didn’t go according to plan. At the time, it was a big letdown, but now in hindsight, it’s a funny story that we often laugh about.

How did it go with planning your wedding?

Marcus

We wanted to plan in peace and quiet without stress, which has meant spending many evenings at the dining table. As parents of small children, we had to find small windows of time whenever possible.

Can you tell us a bit about the upcoming wedding?

Anja

We’re thinking playful, lively, personal, and of course, bursting with love! We tend to think outside the box and want to do things our own way. We were inspired by a wedding we attended as guests, but we’ll keep the details to ourselves for a while longer.

Do you have any wedding tips or advice you’d like to share with other couples planning their wedding?

Marcus

This is your day. Make sure the wedding is for you and that you plan it exactly how you want it. Don’t completely copy what others have done, and dare to break with any traditional must-do that doesn’t feel right.

Anja

The table and seating arrangements can often be crucial for setting the right mood. Round tables or smaller tables can encourage mingling and make it easier to spark conversation around the tables. You’ll want everyone to feel part of the celebration and fit easily into the group.

What do you think is most important to remember when planning a wedding?

Anja

To laugh and have fun! It’s simple, but so important. Enjoy a good meal, share a bottle of wine, and mingle with others. Forget long to-do lists and use mood boards instead. You can even make a playlist with positive vibes to create the perfect atmosphere.
