About Bjarke Ingels Group

Bjarke Ingels Group was established in late 2005 by Bjarke Ingels. Its first project was the Mountain, which is a residential project in Copenhagen. In the succeeding years the group’s project included a waste-to-energy plant which doubles as a ski-rope in Copenhagen, Denmark; the West 57th Street mixed-use tower in midtown Manhattan for Durst Fetner REsidential; the National Art Gallery of Greenland in Nuuk; the Headquarters for the Shenzhen Energy Company in Shenzhen; and the Kimball Art Center in Utah. By 2009, the company continues its growth by expanding its partnership with Thomas Christoffersen, Jakob Lange, Finn Norjaer, Andreas Klok Pedersen, David Zahle, CEO Sheela Maini Sogaard and Kai-Uwe Bergmann. In 2010, the New York City branch office was opened and designed the W57 courtscraper for Durst Fetner Residential. By 2015, the partners increased which include Beat Schenk and Daniel Sundlin in New York, while Brian Yang and Jakob Sand in Copenhagen. Hyperloop One, Deutsche Bahn, and SYSTRA joined the group in 2016 to develop a test of the high speed, low friction Hyperloop concept.
