Wall cleaning for a more attractive room

The wall is usually attracted to fingerprints, smudges, dirt, food, and other grimy stuffs. These can get nasty all the time, especially if the wall has not been cleaned once in a while. Cleaning the walls include several ways and sometimes the traditional methods may or may not be that effective. There are also instances that most traditional sprays and wipes will also damage the paint from the walls. Traditional methods will leave you skipping the job or ending up with unwanted results.

Effective and easy ways to clean your walls

So what is really the most effective way to clean the walls? Some prefer to use multipurpose microfiber cloth. This is not only an effective tool but also an environmental way of making the walls free of dirt. It is considered a green way to clean those nasty smudges and marks quickly and easily. Sprays and other chemicals are not needed when microfiber cloth is used. All you need is just a high quality cloth and ordinary tap water. Cleaning the walls will only take a few minutes with very little effort. This type of cloth does the job for you as it skims the surface of your walls, lifting off dirt and locking it in the fibers. Once the walls have been cleaned, you can still use the same cloth to clean and polish furniture, dust shelves, clean windows and mirrors. Expect the same results as that of the walls.

If the walls are extra dirty or smudged with stubborn dirt and cannot be easily cleaned by a regular cloth, then you will need a little help. With this method, you will only not be able to remove common dirt and fingerprints from your walls, but the more stubborn ones as well. This include pencil, ball point pen, food, crayons and other stuffs. Depending on the type of stain on the walls, you will need to use heavy solution spray or a full strength cleaner. Completely cover the stained area with the solution and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Wipe it completely with microfiber cloth damp with warm water.

Wall deep cleaning through washing

Washing the walls is considered to be a deep cleaning method. It may be time consuming but assured that you will have a great looking and smelling home. Aside from this, the paint job will also last longer.

The materials you will need are broom, towel, vacuum with broom attachment, bucket with warm and soapy water, clean water, dust cloth, and drop cloth.

1. Remove any artwork from the walls and move the furniture to the center of the room so that you will have enough workspace.

2. Dust off the walls and baseboards with the use of broom covered with cloth.

3. Protect the floor by laying a drop cloth to catch any water that runs off.

4. With the use of a lint free washcloth, scrub down the walls from top to bottom with warm soapy water.

5. Rinse the wall with clean water.

6. You are now done and enjoy the clean and fresh walls.
