Photowall – 10 years in style

Ten years ago, Photowall began printing wallpaper for all kinds of styles, personalities and environments. To celebrate our anniversary, at Photowall we’ve put together a collection of customers’ absolute favourites from the past 10 years – but we’ve tweaked their appearance.

Cosmic Abstraction

Every day we see many unique styles – in our homes, on our clothes and in the places we visit. Photowall’s anniversary collection is a tribute to the personal style and the desire to walk your own path. It’s a wall mural collection where anything is possible, with the classics Sunbeam Through Trees, Bright Brooklyn Bridge and World Map Detailed in brand new versions.

“Many people perceive a wall mural as unimaginative and somewhat unmodern, which may make them hesitate to buy one. With our anniversary collection, we want to show our classics in a new way and breathe new life into them. To show that perhaps a wall mural is actually your style, that with a little imagination and wallpaper, there are no limits. All you need is the courage,” says Nora Felin, Marketing Manager at Photowall.

The anniversary collection also includes a new design by illustrator Cecilia Carlstedt. The Cosmic Abstraction design, with subtle pink firmaments and green and grey planets, symbolises the future.

“Back in 2006, when we said we wanted to sell wallpaper, a traditional product, online, a lot of people raised their eyebrows, but my brother Charlie and I stood firm. We wanted to challenge the existing norm and do it in a new way, completely digitally. This is still our intention today, and I feel that this is exactly what Cecilia’s design does: challenges. It makes a statement, is personal and innovative, and we feel it symbolises the future and all the potential that digital technology has to offer,” says Niklas Johansson, co-founder and Deputy CEO at Photowall.

The four motifs in the anniversary collection are available exclusively from Photowall as made-to-measure wall murals. Sunbeam Through Trees, Bright Brooklyn Bridge and World Map Detailed cost £26 per square metre, and Cecilia Carlstedt’s Cosmic Abstraction design costs £28 per square metre.

All the photographs for the collection have been styled by Joanna Lavén and shot by Idha Lindhag.
