You wanted to decorate your home so you had a meeting with the whole family. You told them about your idea so that they may be part in transforming your home. They happily agreed and informed you that you need to go to the mall or store to check on the items that you will be needing. While in the mall, you realized that the materials you will be needing are quite expensive. Which in turn discouraged you from doing the project. Then you remember that there were times that you helped your child do school projects. This gave you the idea that DIY can be used as home decor and that you will be spending time doing this with your family. With the use of affordable materials and in most cases, materials that can be found in your home, you can create the right decorations for your home.

Whatever the project may be, it is always good to know that you are sharing the experience with your family members. Decorating your home with DIY is doable as long as you use your resourcefulness and creativity. For instance, as simple as labeling your kitchen necessities. All you need are simple materials such as stickers or cardboard and an artistic hand to write the labels. If you want it to be easier, you may have the labels printed out with your favorite font.

Hanging books is quite easy as it seems. All you need are strings, cloth and somewhere you can hang them. By creating a DIY hanging magazine or book rack on the wall will save you space and at the same time it will look stylish depending on the design you are going to use. Recyclable materials may also be used. Sometimes we treat empty bottles or PET bottles as rubbish that should be thrown away. All you need are imagination and creativity to come up with useful products, such as using PET bottles or containers as containers for pens, crayons or even as a cellphone stand.

You may also want to consider creating a dresser where to slide in your laundry baskets such that the baskets will have their own place and not seen cluttered around the house.

There are times that your make ups and other cosmetics are scattered around your room. Try making a rolling vanity to store your stuffs. Since finding space for your vanity can be difficult, especially in small rooms or apartments, rolling vanity may be suitable for you.

How many cellphones or gadgets do you have? Isn’t annoying at times to see their chargers cluttered in your room. Try clipping them using a simple binder clip and thread the charger through the clips. Clip them near the socket where you usually charge your phones or gadgets. In that way you wouldn’t have a hard time looking for your chargers.

There are other ways of decorating your home with these DIY. Involve your family members so that you will all have fun in creating them and at the same time helping them to appreciate the task you have given them.
